The Marching Band Tonehammer is a unique library focusing on the capture of its powerful and tight school march drum corps.

Mike was a drummer back in high school. He returned to his alma mater 14 years later to capture the feeling and sound to play at a high school drum corps march to the library. We decided to record the internal and external versions of the drum line to provide the user with a little more freedom. The goal was not to capture the sound simply watching a drum corps, but to create the feeling of being in the drumline reallyyourself, all the way to rehearsal for the big game. The indoor version was recorded in a wood, tile and fabric surface rehearsal room. The recordings were conducted outdoors on the football field, so there are occasional parasitic elements buried in the sound of passing pedestrians and spectators. That's what you get for the record in the real world. We were not able to get marching bass drums in the room, we opted for the old 48 bass concert which was in operation there since the '70s. We also groups live on and parade atmosphere to really get you into the action. This library has all the flavor and verve of a classic high school march drums, with lots of pop, crack, whump and the ramp to bring some living in your line of percussion
